over thanksgiving weekend i hauled my sister in the kidnap van* to visit the town on the other side of the mountain range (livermore). the reason? craiglist furniture of course!

i scored this set with four chairs and an extension leaf for $85. i love it! unfortunately it is very VERY heavy. anyone want to help me carry it up the stairs to my place? i live on third floor. =p

antique chairs

i'm not really sure what makes something an antique. something about an item being old. old is relative though isn't it?

these chairs are a craigslist find. for freeeee! isn't that nice? thank you mr. craigslister!

when i was unloading the chairs from my car i ran into one of my neighbors in the garage. "did you go antiquing?" he asked. "nope" i replied. "just picking up some old stuff that someone didn't want!"

antique glass lamp

that's what the craiglist posting said anyway. i'm pretty fuzzy on what actually constitutes an antique but it does seem pretty old. the shade is a tad big for the base so i'll probably replace it when i find something appropriate. the listing requested $50. i paid $25.

guesshowmuchguesshowmuch

i created this to chronicle my purchases and deals. guesshowmuchguesshowmuch was a game we played when i was little (and yes we still play!) where we would come home from a shopping trip and we would yell guesshowmuchguesshowmuch! at my dad until he could come up with an accurate guess as to how much we'd paid. the object this game would be to find a cool item for the cheapest price imaginable and completely throw off the guesser. my mom once came home with a pair of shorts that she had purchsed for some insanely cheap price (25 cents?!), she won that day!

the game is sort of like the price is right. only for crazy people.
